Speech by the Head of the Health Resort of the Slovenian Red Cross, Debeli rtič:
Dear visitors of the Health Resort of the Slovenian Red Cross, Debeli rtič, dear children,
it is with great pleasure that I notice that the shores of our resort are filled with the joy and laughter of more than 17,000 children every year. Embraced by the sea and the warmth of the sun, children are making new friends, experiencing their first independent adventures and discovering the joy of exercise and health.
Our resort is not just a place to relax, but a unique health, education and exercise centre for children – the only one of its kind in the whole of Central and South-Eastern Europe. With modern health, exercise and education infrastructure and professional support, we ensure the healthy development of children, which is at the heart of all our activities. We also pay special attention to those who need extra support to give them equal opportunities to grow, learn and play.
Their satisfaction is the reward for everyone who contributes in any way, so we invite the organisers of children’s holidays, summer camps, kindergartens and other institutions, as well as donors, to give your children an unforgettable experience surrounded by nature, the sea and professional care.

Health Resort park
Planted at the beginning of the 20th century, the park has over 200 different species of plants from all continents in around 7 hectares. There are more than 4,000 trees and shrubs (both conifers and deciduous) and other perennials.
